Hi
Just had a STOP message appear on the 207 1.4s (56MY). Flashed up brakes failure and then power steering on the central display. Power steering now gone, brakes juddery and speedo not registering!! Apart from that it's all working fine lol. Only done 6k miles.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance |

The power steering and speedo may well be linked.
What is the exact fault it displays regarding the brakes?
Any chance of getting some diag equipment on it? |

Thanks for the reply canyondust.
The message flashes up 'Braking system faulty' and then 'Power Steering faulty'. The power steering and ABS lights are lit on the dash. No diagnostic equipment I'm afraid unless take it to local dealer.
It's not been driven for some time but a bit alarming when just starting the descent on the Snake Pass!! |

OKay, it sounds like you have some kind of ABS fault.
And that is likely to be linked to the p/s fault as it needs to read the wheel speeds.
Where are you based? I can take a look. |

Is it likely to be a drive belt or something? Suppose I also should check it's not just fuses gone under the hood.
Although the speedo is not working the tacho is working fine still and its not lost power to anything else.
Based over the hill near Manchester. |

hi,,no def not belt, steering is electric.
speedo is not working as it gets its info from abs sensors.
as yours will also have a steering angle sensor, the steering shut's down also.
post last 8 of vin number and i can check for any recalls.
