Hello All.

Got an error msg this morning when starting car ('04 407 2.0HDI).

The error said something like: "Presence of water detected in the Diesel fuel filter".

Anyone know what this means??

I'm sure this came up a few weeks ago when we had subzero temps/heavy snow and it flashed too quickly for me to see.

Thanks in advance.

Smile

Hi Toddy.

Thanks for your advice. Can I bleed the fuel filter somehow like you would the water radiator? Or do you mean get the fuel filter changed? I remember getting a new filter filter roughly 30K miles ago but I'm sure this was not from Peugeot. If you mean getting it changed for a new one then I will get that done ASAP.

Saf.

Hi.

Bad news I'm afraid. This morning the engine wouldn't stay started. I started the engine and it would fire but it would then missfire and rev (of its own accord) up to ~1300 revs and then conk out. no matter how much I pressed the accelerator it wouldn't make a difference, as if it wasn't connected.

It took about 15-20 starts to get it running prooperly. I had the above msg about "water in diesel filter".  It must be related in my opinion but I've had a new filter from Pug.

Any ideas?

Thanks again.
