prob going over old ground as a newbie, having nothing but problems with my 307 hdi 110 2002 and have spent loads on garages reading codes, is there a fault code reader i can use with this car, it has a bosch ecu and an elm 323 or 327 doesnt work

hi,,it all depends on budget?
i believe there is a code reader u581 i think that is meant to be ok(i have never used one tho)
however i would only ever budget for a peugeot planet.

will the CReader V Car Code Diagnostic Reader red the 307s ? if the u581 is the cheapest code reader then shall have to buy that one, cars throwing up faults every time we get in it, only had it for 2 weeks and 1 week of that we sent it back to the garage to fix a few problems which it looks like they have spend 8 days changing a battery and left all the other faults, my 306 hdi was faultless and the elm323 read the ecu shame i crashed it

Yep i've a u581 and it will read most petrols from 98 onwards and most diesel from 04 onwards...but if your diesel is pre 04 then this reader will not work.....also these code readers will only read engine faults.

sure the peugeot planet software sells on ebay for buttons and stick it on to a half decent laptop. the only costly bit is the interface

MaxiDiag FR704 is what you need 105 from ebay last year under make best offer very good reader for ALL french cars and it has obdll/eobd and it worked on a ford ka too
