hi my car is lacking power up  motorway gradients struggling to reach 50mph , mechanics suggested changing turbo as i have not had any smoke what so ever i had my turbo refurbished and the turbo company diagnosed overspin in the turbo which caused the bearing to brake down. having replaced the turbo there is no improvement what so ever it runs like a non turbo diesel. any ideas also there is no roughness in the engine and the MAF sensor was left off as 4 months ago i changed the temperature sender unit  and disconnected the flexible hose between the air mass meter and the turbo ducting and only noticed a few months later when i started having trouble with the car that the hose was disconnected.

hi,,so what tests/diag has been done?

does the car rev freely stationery??
have the vacuum hoses been checked?
solenoid valves tested?
there is loads of stuff to check.
i would also be finding a better garage, been they have cost you a turbo.
maybe post your location?

the garage i put the car into they supposedly put it on diagnostics which they charged 50 for but there was one fault with abs flashing up on the display saying abs not working and esp not working but they didnt mention this problem or give me any print out, all they told me tht the turbo was gone. no solenoids or vacuum hoses have been checked but the car does rev freely stationary. so the car does run as a normal 2.0l engine is nice and smoothe there is no lumpiness. i live in aberdare south wales i would also like to add three months ago i changed the temp sender unit and removed the air mass meter hose to gain access and forgot to tighten the jubilee clip and when i looked for anything obvious causing the power loss i noticed the hose had come off the air mass meter completly so the hose could have been off for quite a number of weeks many thanks

Your problem to me is vaccuum related up hill power loss. If you have or can borrow a small vacuum gauge. remove vac pipe at turbo boost valve attach
vac gauge to the pipe with engine idling vac gauge should show a reading
of not less than( 25inhg ) then check other side of valve your reading there should be approx (18inhg)  Assuming your garage did fit a new turbo then
theres no need to check your turbo actuator   Check all vac lines for chaffing
pin holes  It's also important to replace all line ends  rubber elbows  straight
rubber connectors hope this helps  Best Reguards Mickeybo N/Ireland

Hello all, I have a very similar problem with my 307 HDi 110 D Turbo
The car starts and revs fine  however for the 1st 5 mins of driving, the car will not accelarete i struggle to get it above 30 mph, as soon as the temp gets upto 75 degrees, the turbo kicks in with plenty of boost and drives fine, although it does seem that it is not getting enough air as it should,
The turbo tends to make a high pitch whistling noise, not the usual whistle if that makes sense??

In addition there is an ABS fault, for the 1st mile or so of driving the abs kicks in and the brakes judder, then i get 2 error messages on the dash saying esp/asr not functioning and abs fault, the lights on the dash are lit, when the faults show the brakes do not judder

I will be taking it in to the local garage this week, any ideas what the issues are??

Thanks
