Hello , i need to reboot BSI to repair some fault,,

I want to clarify points 5,6,7,9 in the following steps

Before sending the unit try the BSI Reset procedure as this may cure your faults:
1- Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.

2- Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.

3- Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.

4- Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).

5- Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

The side lights are the flashing lifgt when i turn left or right ? the button with triangle ? or which button ?

6- Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.

Does it mean to put key and turn it for steps only with out turning on the engine ? then i check the system functionality from screen with the buttons in the cassette ?

7- Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

which one is this button ? the one beside the trinagle button which lock all the car doors ?

8- Remove key open & close door test central locking system.

9- Start the engine and complete the system's check.

how to make system check ?

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related items

Hi

first of all , what s the reason for reset ???

sidelights are parknig lights , so one click on the light stalk , sidelights not dipped headlights ( this is to wake up the bsi with low voltage feed )

once sidelights on then its ok to start via key

lock button refers to key fob and is related to programming the central locking function on the key

system check is " does the vehicle start and do car control systems work , like wipers lights fan blower etc etc!!

I would leave battery off for more than 15 secs , try 3 mins to allow bsi to " go to sleep"

Hi... don't know anything about car . My 307 sw just been repaired for BSI box. It seems the steps u mentioned here means that u can fix it urself. Dealer charged me 40% of the repair since I ask if this is a guarantee case.  New car guarantee expired last february this year. Bought the car as new in 2007 & after 1 year  got problem w/ the aircondition but the dealer fix it w/ a new one.  This BSI box....was it expensive to fix? and was it right that  dealer charged me?

BSi failure or function issues can often only be resolved by fitting a new bsi  so this method may not have worked on your problem

GTI

I have a problem and some told me to try the BSI reset

i will tell you the problem , you may have a better answer ,,,thanks

============================================================

I have 307 1.6 4 speed Tiptronic auto - gearbox change to next speed is late !

i have a problem when i move with my car ..like after a 45 minutes trip

The gearbox normally change the speed automatically when it the RPM reaches 2000 or 3000 RPM

but after sometime , a SUDDEN strange behaviour happen ,,,

The behavior Description

1- "The gearbox starts to changes the speed when it reach 4500 or 5000 RPM "vary late" !!!
2- And If i tried to use the manual mood and i push the gearbox stick to the front , the gear doesn't respond "acts like i am not pushing" even the gear status on the screen stuck on "|D" not 1,2,3,4 !! ,, the "D" on the screen is flashing

,,, this behaviour disappears when i stop the car and turn of the engine for 10 or 15 minutes !! then it acts normal may be for another 40 or 50 min trip

anyone please have any idea ?

Note: I have just bought the card "used" and i have changed the GearBox oil after i bought it.  i didn't have enough time to test the car to if i have this problem before i bought it

Thanks

Hi

ok so you changed gear box oil yourself , did you do this correctly as pe manual?? sounds like an electrovalve fault ( which are located in the valve box on front of gearbox , I think) or possible software fault that may require download at the dealer ,

Toddy would know more about this one , but ive not seen him on for a bit??

did the car have this issue before you changed the oil , and where did you get oil from??

hello,,,

forget bsi reset for your fault,it won't work.
i suspect you have an auto box pressure related fault.
as krow says,,how did you change the oil??
what oil?
i would remove the oil cooler and check for debris in it.
ideally you need some diag eqt on this also.
