OK, having problems and need some advice.  I've got an '03 peugeot 307 xsi (2.0 16v petrol), and it's been running like a bag of bolts lately.... well actually, for a while now.  It all started a few months back, when it would really struggle with cold starts - it wouldn't idle, misfired quite badly, and had a major case of "the shakes".  It would often throw up the antipollution fault and catalytic convertor fault, but these would disappear.  once it got up to temperature, it seemed to run fine.

now things aren't so rosey.  the car's misfiring, severe lack of power, and the antipollution fault is staying put as well.  The misfire doesn't seem noticeable at idle, or on gentle accelleration, but putting the foot down's a waste of time.

The engine management light is on and I've hooked it up to OBD2, which gave three codes: P0202, P0203 and P0204.  I looked up the codes and it said the problem was injector circuit open on injectors 2, 3 and 4.  any ideas what was cause this, bearing in mind that there's no issue reported on injector 1?

I find it hard to believe three injectors packed in at the same time.  I've heard that I can test each injector using a multimeter to measure the resistance, but I don't know what the nominal reading should be for them.

I replaced the spark plugs, no change.

I think my next plan of action is either the coil pack, or lambda sensor(s), but before committing to anything I thought I'd see if anyone had encountered similar issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hi

id be looking at coil pack , did you cclear the faults and read again after running????? could it be that someone has had the injector plugs off in the past to isolate the mis fire????? , if so perhaps the fault codes are from that venture??

diag session with proper eqp would be the way to go , take live data when driving , if its got progressivly worse then coil pack springs to mind

thanks for the reply.  do you know of any way to test a coil pack to see if it is indeed the root cause?

bumping this one - been away for a while and finally back and looking at car.  problem still exists (which is to be expected as ain't done anything yet).

back to my previous post, is there a way to test a coil pack before going and getting a replacement?  I want to avoid changing something unless sure that is the problem.

Rather than just giving fault codes, I've now got diagnostics that gives live sensor readings.  If anybody can give pointers here (especially regarding lambda sensors) it would be appreciated.
