I've just bought a 5dr 57 plate 308 which is running great. But over the last week or so I've been hearing water sloshing as i turn. Water has been building up behind the door panels of the rear doors. (front doors unaffected). I have been able to drain the water by moving the rubber at the bottom of the doors which unplugs the doors. but then having to put it back means the doors are plugged up again.

any ideas whats causing this? How is it coming in? the window seals and glass seem too tight to let so much water in.
any similar experiences out there?

Thanks

Yes , I have got the same problem.  I have a 2008 pug 308 with water sloshing about in the rear door panels.  I have no idea how to get rid of it and can hardly wait for 6 weeks time when I can get rid of it and have my BMW instead.  Sorry Peugeot but you have been rubbish.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem. Bought the car 3 weeks ago and it's under warranty so will take it back to dealer. How did you get on with yours?

Thanks,

A.

Yep my 5 door 308 hatch has same problem.  I use a piece of solid earth wire from 3 core 1.5mm mains cable to keep the drainholes at the bottom of the door free. Little awkward to get at but once you get to learn what angle to use the  wire it works ok

The holes are a bit narrow and the slightest bit of dirt will clog them up.

You will find that the door, once the holes are free, will best drain off with them fully open as it puts a better angle/slope on the door than when the door is shut.

Hi - I have literally just discovered the same issue on my 2008 hdi - and there was a heap of water in there. What with this, and the fact that the front discs are apparently 'totally shot' even though I don't drive like a boy racer on the motorway - and the rear discs are badly corroded and need to be replaced I am told... Guess what I am starting to lose faith in the car! Does anyone get wobble on the steering if you dare venture just over 70 mph to overtake - or is that just me ? All the tyres are well within legal limits, and front pair have both been recently checked for balance and tracking redone. It is still happening.

I've got a 2009 308HDI I've also heard the sloshing sound. At first I thought it was the diesel in the tank, but when I opened the right rear door I discovered it was water inside the door panel.  It slowly drips out the bottom of the door.  Does anyone know why this is so?  It must not be good for the electrics in the door panel?

Water in door panels can pose a significant threat to the integrity of structures, especially in the context of Affordable and Durable Metal Buildings. When water infiltrates door panels, it can lead to corrosion and structural damage over time. Proper sealing and maintenance are essential to prevent water ingress and ensure the longevity of these metal buildings, which are known for their cost-effectiveness and resilience in various environments.
