| I have a 206 sw 1.4 petrol that has been playing up with the engine management light. Anyway thats another story, but what i really want to know is how to reset the ECU properly.
I have been reading though alot of forums and advice, but they all say different things about resetting.
Now can someone please tell me if this is the right way??
*Shut all doors and lock car before disconnecting battery.
*Disconnect battery and leave for 45mins.
*Connect battery and leave for 5mins before unlocking doors and starting engine.
*Drive for a short journey but keep engine at 2000/2500 revs.
My dad, who is a mechanic told me to reset the ECU by turning ingnition to first click and leave for 2 hrs. Is this right also? And wont it drain the battery as the battery light will be lit on the dashboard???
Thanks in advance
