| Hi there, first post so be gentle!
The car above is my wifes and was bought from Peugeot in September last year, it was just under a year old with 10k on the clock.
Fast forward to this weekend and about 5k miles later, on Sunday I noticed the temp gauge slowly creeping up.
We pulled over and I took a look under the bonnet and noticed the coolant expansion tank was empty.
I let the car cool to see if the level came back up but it didn't.
I then took a glance under the oil cap and found it to be half full of oil/water sludge - not good.
We got the car recovered home and I topped up the tank (about half a litre at a guess) to see if I could discover any leaks, it didn't drop at all.
The car was taken to Peugeot on Monday by the AA.
The AA guy said it would be the first 207 he'd seen or heard of with HG failure, but he did say it looked likely for ours.
I have just spoken to them and they are reporting no fault found!
They cant find any leaks that may have caused the coolant to drop and have pressure tested the system.
They are saying that the cause of the sludge under the oil cap is down to condensation, which I could believe if it was a small amount or the car did short journeys but it doesnt and the sludge was dripping down onto the camshafts!
They are advising us to collect the car and monitor it closely to see if anything happens.
It sounds distinctly like we're being fobbed off.
I have written the events of the last few days down, with times and names etc so that it's all there if we should need to rely on it.
Does anyone have any experiences of HG failure, does this look to be the case here?
