Hi Guys, have an 03 307 2.0 HDI 110 and 206 53 2.0 HDI 90 both coming up for a cambelt change - when I cut my teeth on cars, you could set the belt tension by twisting the belt firmly to get 90 degrees twist in the middle of the long belt run - I know it is important to get the tension correct (evan more so these days) and using the proper tension gauge is the best way to do it, but are there any practical workarounds to get the right tension without having to find someone with the proper pug gauge?

Hi

its more like 45 ish these days, between cam and hp pump it wants to be tight , hp pump is not timed so if you go crank , roller , hp pump , then you can get it tight , then hp to cam ( cam locking at 7/8 o clock) then slack is round the back by tensioner and water pump, perfect !!
