There was a bang from the engine.
The car slowed down but the engine still kept running.
It came to a stop and cut out.
It restrated fine and the engine management light flashes at us.
It seems to drive Ok but the light is still flashing.
I coudlnt see any major fault or leaks or bits missing.

Advice please

assuming its a turbo engine, a blown turbo i suspect. get it looked at by a good garage/dealer in any case.

well its not a turbo engine! Laughing

it's a 1.1 (thanks for the PM btw)

tbh, the 206 is not my domain and neither are petrol engines.

so its a 1.1 petrol.

Can i ask "how you was driveing for the past 10 15 minutes, ie did you have it in high revs etc

Maybe a possibility of over fueling. Then as stated the fuel has banged in the exhaust when ignited. this can be un heard, or very easily heard.

As for the cutting out im unsure, maybe poor fuel you ahve had in and clogged something up.
