Hi (and sorry to jump straight in with assistance needed as my first post)....

I recently brought a 407 SW Estate (54 Plate), my first Pug, so far I'm  liking it and now trying to get a little bit more out of her.

She has the standar factory fit RD4 Stero, Single CD, No Bluetooth etc and I'm wanting to connect an MP3 player.

I've brought myself a Connects2 Aux Interface adapter for my specific model, which fits fine and is (as I understand it) meant to allow an Auxilliary MP3 Player to play through the CD Changer port (source), after fitting the interface I found that CD Changer still couldn't be selected through the Source button, so I read a little about installing this interface and found out that these RD4 Units dont always come with the Aux Ports enabled ?? and so I should take it to a Pug Dealer and have them enable Ports 1 & 2 ? which should then make the CD Changer selectable using the source button.

Well I booked it in to my local Pug dealer (Marshall's), they quoted me £45 for the job and would take around 30 minutes to program, I took the car in to the dealer's this morning and decided to wait while they carried out the programming, 30 mins later they came back to me saying they were having trouble and couldn't get any ports enabled no matter what they tried.

Interestingly as soon as I drove the car out of the service area, I got 2 fault lights come on as I drove down the road that I'd not had before, Left Indicator bulb fail (When I pressed the brakes) and Left Stop light bulb fail when I used the Left hand indicator............... I took it straight back and told them what had happened, they took it back in for 10 minutes and it came back out as "sorted", I drove away and yes I was no longer getting these ass about face warnings, but still no CD Changer selectable source.....

So my question(s)

Is this common place that some of these RD4 Units can't have their Aux ports enabled ??

Is it likely that the guy was trying to do something with the wiring to enable the port (hence the faults after their first attempt) ??

Am I destined to not be able to use my MP3 player in this car ??

Anyone know of a way I can get this sorted? (I don't really want to use an FM Transmitter).

I'm really stuck on this one, looks like I'll be buying a new RD4 unit, if I can get hold of one.

Anyone selling one?.

It's odd they couldn't do it. Took Marshall's in Peterborough about 15minutes to get the AUX1 port enabled on the RD4 in our 307.
Were they trying to configure it as an AUX input or a CD changer?

Our 307 has the Peugeot AUX in as it was only £20, although it wasn't bought from or fitted by Peugeot. It only went there for the AUX1 port.
The 407 will be going in for the same soon.

Does the Connect2 adapter specify which port it needs to go in? The pin out is different between AUX1 and AUX2.

Having spoken to someone else in the know on this, it may well be that I only need the CD Changer port enabled for the Connects2 interface and not the Aux 1 / 2 port, I'll throw it back at Marshall's St Neots and see if that makes a difference to them.

Will let you know how I get on, although I may head up to Peterborough instead if you found them ok.

That's likely it, as I've just done a quick Google and it's suggested it uses the CD Changer port.

I quite like Marshall's St Neots as they did a great job servicing the 307 when it was under warranty (and they are our nearest dealer) but when I spoke to them about enabling the AUX port for the Peugeot AUX interface, they weren't sure what I was on about.
To be fair, I may have asked the wrong person, but Marshall's Peterborough knew what I wanted straight away, and as I work in Peterborough anyway it wasn't an issue to take it there.
