405 Mi16 Engine Leaks » Peugeot 405 forum » Peugeot Central

Hello,
I have a 1989 Peugeot 405 Mi16 and i seem to have a very nasty leak of antifreeze in the back part of the engine i think i may know where the leak it is originating from but i cannot get a good picture of it besides one but it still is not great. This use to be my everyday car but now with these leaks and the AC going out (for the second time and i leave in arizona) and now i have to resort to the biggest gas guzzler there is. Any help would be appreciated if needed i can upload the picture.

Hi, antifreeze in Arizona ! Nights must be pretty cold there !

As for the leak, you really aren't giving much information but a couple of favourites for such at the REAR of engine (bulkhead side) are the metal transfer pipe from the plastic water pump housing to the gearbox end of the cylinder head area and that housing itself Â ('O' ring seal or cracked) + of course heater hoses / joiner hoses - on pipe to housing for example.

If it is that metal pipe - prepare yourself for work clearing the way to get it out, it's a pig !
