Hi i'm new to this forum stuff.
I have a 206 SW XSI HDI.
I get the message of 'antipollution fault' come up when i start the car and the engine light stays on.  Occasionally the message pops up when i over accelerate (the light doesn't go off til the engine is off).
There is no other problem, the car starts/runs fine on short trips and motorways. No loss of power or cutting out.
I've seen lots of posts with other symptoms but none like this.
Also seen that most garages are useless at diagnosing the problem and want to know what my next step should be.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

I just had this issue too! I also had the catalytic converter error message come up.
Sometimes my car would shake and even "broke down" and wouldn't work for half an hour.

My mechanic put a new coil pack in my car and it's been fine since.

i had this come on the other day. 2 mins after leaving work on a warm day, i stopped at lights with air con on. as i went to pull away the car went into limp mode. i pull over stra8 away and turned off the engine. i restarted it and it drove away fine but no warning lights or texts. then after i dropped my friend off i stopped at a shop and when i got back in and turned the engine on the engine yellow light came on and anti pollution text showed on display. this stayed on all the way home, which took 10 mins, but no loss of power. next morning i started the car and no light or text or loss of power. weird!

on the same evening it happened i went online and looked at tons of posts on forums and quite a few had taken it to a garage and paid loads of dollars and it still wasnt fixed, and others said bp ultimax petrol solved their problems. my only issure with it on that day last week is still the only one. the petrol suggestion makes sense as their must be a reason why service stations offer a better type of petrol than standard and maybe some standard fuels at certain service stations arent good for a car. also, anti pollution would likely be something to do with the cat.

my advice is if it comes on still once you have left the engine to cool and have started it again, try going to a bp service station and filling up with their ultimax petrol.
