Dear All,
Having misplaced te car manual of my 2005 407SR purchased one month ago, I would
much appreciate your help regarding replacing the remote control battery. I have heared,
or maybe it is just an "urban legend" that replacement as such requires re-tunning of
the whole immobilizing sytem, re calibrating and so forth.
Is it so terrible as that? are you in a position to direct me in that respect? Thanks.
Yours,
M.D. |

the car maunal wouldn't have helped you anyway, just read thru it and nothing but 'how to use' the key is printed.
changing the battery should be easy enough. if it needs to be 'reprogrammed' to the vehicle its done in the same manner as most new pugs.
PLIP PROGRAMMING
1. Turn the Ignition switch to the ON position using the first key.
2. Press the LOCK button for 10 seconds.
3. Remove the key and wait for 10 seconds.
4. Check the Plip key operation.
5. Repeat for second Plip key if required.
6. Turn the ignition OFF |

Many thanks Mr. Cellexe for your prompt reply
Is the LOCK button the button with which I turn the alarm on? the one one top of the remote?
Yours,

This is detailed in the 407 manual, and is diiferent to previously posted.
From page 20:
Switch off the ignition
Switch the ignition on again
Press the remote control locking button for a few seconds
Switch off the ignition and remove the key from the lock.
Should now be working.
I've done this and it works, |

Definitely Mr_Cellexe, bad phraseology my side
But [as English isnt my native language], "switching the ignition on" means having the engine
started and running, or simply "on" means being on the position of having all lights and indicators
on the panel on.
Yours as ever,
MD |
