Only had the car for 3 weeks and the cambelt broke on xmas eve, 25 miles from home, three children my wife and mum in the car, didn't get home until 11.45pm.
Anyway i have been told i'm unlikely to see it back in January. it's an 05 only just turned 49000 miles.
I will keep you up to date as soon as i hear anything. |

Hi,
Full spec as follows
2.2 HDI 136 bhp executive, diesel, 2005, 49000 miles i think thats it!.
I was expecting to get it back this week, after them telling me they will start working on it in Monday. i have a years warranty on it and it has a full service history.
The extended warranty people have been speaking to PUG uk and decided on a new engine, not a brand new one but i guess a recon?.
Phoned them today to see how they were getting on, i was told the garage hasn't even got the engine in yet!!. Now they are waiting to see if PUG uk will give me a brand new engine. the good news is it will not cost me anything....at the moment anyway.
I will let you know what happens. |

Mine is the same engine, age & coming up to that mileage.......................... My warranty expires in May.
So does one pre-empt problems and have the cam belt etc replaced just after the warranty has expired?
Does anyone know of the cost? |

Its a very rare failure.
Was a diagnosis performed to find out the belt failure cause? (it may be obvious) |
