hi, own a v reg 19td expert which I love with a passion, its a brill bus , but over the last few thousand miles the gearchange has been getting slowly worse, today 1st and 2nd finally departed altogether, now this also includes with the engine OFF so thinking its the gearbox itself as it had been crunching ever since I had the van, it had a new clutch when I got it, and at this point I found most of the bellhousing bolts missing or snapped, I sorted these when the new clutch went in but sadly with it being driven with a dragging clutch the damage to the syncros on 1+2 had already been done. it will go into 3rd 4th 5th and rev happily with the engine running from standstill so no clutch issues...
my question is, how do I identify my gearbox (cable clutch NOT hydraulic) and has anyone got one for sale? |
