406 juddering in 4th gear & ABS lights came on as a one » Peugeot 406 forum » Peugeot Central

Greetings all.
My 406 started 'juddering;' in 4th & 5th gear yesterday. Almost like it was 'missing' or not firing properly. Now I have revved it when stationary and left it to tick over with no signs of 'missing' or juddering. It only started doing this after a drive in the severly wet weather yesterday. It did it for about ten minutes then when in heavy traffic the ABS warning light and 'STOP' lights came on. The brakes worked fine and when i stopped and re started the car the lights went away.
Also to note, that after driving home for about 15 mins doing about 60mph the stuttering/juddering/missing symptoms ceased and it drove fine.
Re started it this morning and it did not want to rev over 2000 when stationary. I took it out for a drive to see and low and behold it juddered again when cold. It seemed to get better after it warmed up but still not pulling right.

Im not very car minded but had a look at the air filter which was soaking wet. Would this make any difference? its like there is a fuel struggle or something until it gets warm.

Any help or pointers appreciated
