Guys,
I need your help. My Father was ill for over 6 months and didnt run his car in this time. Now the battery is totally flat (less than 1V) and there is absolutly nothing when trying to turn over the car. Also the central looking wont work.
Is it just a case of changing the battery or has the immobiliser kicked in? If so how do I go about getting the car started?
Also as the car has not been running for over six months will it be ok or is there anything else I should do/check?
I am no car expert and dont know where to start..!!!

Jonny.
First things - sorry to hear about your father and hope he is on the mend.
What engine do you have?
You should just be able to charge the battery - nice slow charge nothing drastic (dont jump start).
Other than check fluids, tyre pressures, washers, lights etc you should be good to go.

where would I get a charger? What type would I ask for? What would the cost Be? Would a new battery not be cheaper?
