Me again,

Last night I did quite a long drive in the pouring rain and hit some puddles/lakes quite hard.

This morning I tried to start it and the pre-heater light does not come on at all. When I turn the key to pre-heat it sounds like there is a click noise from the glovebox or engine (the same noise as you hear when the pre-heater usually cuts off after 30 seconds).

So it looks like its switching itself off as soon as the ignition is turned. I tried about 30 times no luck, tried again and the pre-heater light came on and started ok. Then switched engine off (stupidly) and now just wont start again.

I still have the other 205 to strip parts off it so should have all the parts, but anyone know where I should start? I am rubbish at electrics.

Is the pre-heater relay box mounted near(ish) to the top of the coil and spring on the inside of the engine compartment (on the right as you look at the engine)?

Also I cant seem to find the fuse that operates this pre-heater? Any clues where I can find that please?

Not a good start to a Monday! Thanks very much for any help!

I found this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Peugeot-Citroen-Heater-Plug-Relay-205-405-309-Express_W0QQitemZ260341602700QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item260341602700&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318

Should I replace this? Or is there a relay attached to it as well?

Cheers

Cheers canyon,

Do you reckon it could be that that's tripping it on switch off? I reckon some water must have got into it last night as its never given me trouble before.

Well went to try and start it and it start first go. Tried about 20 times and the pre-heater works fine.

Must have needed time to dry i suppose.

Taught me for going into puddles.
