Ideally you need to get the fault codes, one of the main possibilities we come accross is -Drivers module trigger 2 open circuit-.  That basically means a new COM2000 is required, it is the part behind the steering wheel which houses the light and wiper stalks.

had to the same problem after changing the com2000 on my 307...(broke my signal indicator)

change back to the original com2000 and the problem still persist...

besides the com2000...could it be something else?....

As Tyler says you need codes really to see what the Airbag ECU is saying also.

hi canyon, the diag2000  says "permanent fault. driver's module trigger - level 2. Open circuit"

tested 3 com2000 actually, including the original one...result is the same...

could it be some sensor? or wiring underneath the seat?

please advice..

found this conversation from the net earlier:

Hi all
I cant seem to find this code anywhere the code will not clear (p0802 level of driver module trigger 2 open circuit)
Has anyone got some idea what to check next.

thanks guys

si
Scott. B:
Hi

This code is usually down to one of three things.

(A) Poor connection at the two pin blue or brown connector on the back of the Comms 2000.
(B) Poor connection at the two pin blue or green connector on the back of the drivers (steering wheel) module.
(C) Intermittent break in the rotary connection built into the Comms 2000.

I think Module 2 are the blue connectors whilst module 1 are the green and brown connectors.

The majority of the time I find one of the connectors have come out of the airbag module itself.

Try checking the connections first and if thats not it then a Comms 2000 (lights / wiper stalk) may be required.

Remember to take all the usually precautions when working with airbags.
si:
Like you said scott Wink it had a bad connection at the module behind the steering wheel.
What is this unit called.

thanks m8

Scott. B:
Hi Si

Glad you've found the problem.

Comms 2000 is the name for the lighting and wiper control ECU. Its a fancy version of the old style hardwired switches, but has a built in ECU to encode information, and send it as commands to other ECU's, over the multiplexed network.

It does other things as well such as: HF remote central receiver. Transponder and key present function. Warning buzzer. Radio controls.

Thanks m8
