Hi,

It's quite difficult.  I removed mine (peugeot 308 se) to install a handsfree kit and eventually got it out with a lot of force.  Having done so, it was clear why it was not easy!  Obviously you need the standard removal tools that insert into the holes on each side - I assume you are using these?

The reason it is difficult is that there are tabs on the fascia of the radio that protrude underneath the fascia of the unit below.  In my car below the radio is a storage compartment (in some cars there is a cd multichanger here) and below that is the climate control unit.  When I eventually got the radio out, all of these came loose.  I think the easiest way would be to start at the bottom and carefully loosen the climate control/airconditioning fascia, then pull out the storage compartment, then the radio.  But not having done it again since, I'm not sure how easy it will be.

Ok. That is what i thinkin its very difficult to loosen. I am afraid that something will be brooken if i use force. I have also tryed from the bottom but it seems its screwen fast. I will try again.
Thank you for your answer.

Quite an old thread, but I found these two videos on YouTube which show the process and I think it's worth updating in case anyone else ends up here as I did.

Looks like it's a full dismantling process from the bottom to the top. You could perhaps get away with just taking the fascia off for the heater controls instead of the whole unit. Each unit seems to have tabs below locking it to the unit below.

I just changed from a 207cc to a 308cc and wanted to move my USB box over. On the 207cc the tray under the stereo just pulls out, and the stereo comes out with the usual prongs, the job is under a minute.

On the 308cc I pulled and pulled and it was clear there was more to it. In the start of part 2 you can clearly see the tabs on the bottom of the radio fascia.

I got the radio out, eventually. You need to take four torxes out to do it.

Firstly remove the ashtray and the rubber mat that's below the ashtray.

Take out torxes counting from left the 2nd and the 5th, releases the trim around heater controls. Remove trim around heater controls.

This exposes two more torxes close to the temperature displays. These hold the tray under the radio in place. Remove these.

Work your hand up the back of the heater controls and you'll feel a straight piece of plastic which comes out the back of the tray, wiggle this and you can pop the tray out.

Now with the tray out you can use radio prongs to remove the radio.

if you try to take the radio straight out the two large clips at the bottom of the radio will break off.
