Hi everybody,

this is my first post on this forum so here goes...
I have a 307, 90 HDi 2.0, 2002,  anti pollution fault comes up on the screen and it beeps a few times,
on the dash board the engine icon lights up. Car loses power immediately.
Then usually I restart the car while driving two times and it goes away.
Official PUG service can't find? nothing?, they wanted to change almost everything on the car, the
estimate was around 1500 pounds!!?? but couldn't guarantee that changing all these
parts will solve the problem... I had this problem for the last three years, the car has
around 120.000km, first owner, I am located in Croatia.

many thanks,

Din

Din.

It is probably worth doing a search on the forum as I answer this query quite often.

Would there be any chance of someone scanning it for you?  That would help me be more specific in my answer.

Welcome by the way!

Betty.

The fault if I remember correctly was a 307.  There was nothing wrong with the filter, additive, additive ECU.
Finally traced the fault to a 'butchered' injection ECU. I could communicate with it directly so ended up using the on board port to talk to it.
This finally ended in another injection ECU and some replacement wiring.  I certainly remember it was a nightmare.

The vehicle was sent to me from Evans Halshaw in Huddersfield - sadly they are no more.

Hi Canyondust,

yes I can get it analyzed, but I am still searching for the right mechanic workshop.
The biggest problem is that I had anti pollution fault showing up from summer 2006,
have been taking the car to the local official authorized shop but their service is just plain awful.
They said that diagnostics can't find anything wrong, so for the last three years
I have been paying for almost anything on the basis  "it could be the"...
The engine light and the beeps just keep on going, usually more when the
weather is warm, or the air conditioning unit is working.

I have tried to use the forum search but it's only for paying forum members,
have found some of your post's on anti pollution fault and they were interesting.

Will post when I diagnose the car properly.

many thanks for replying!

Has the flywheel ever been replaced?

Crank sensor needs a scope on it to look at its output. Faults like this are well outside fault code readers or even dealer diagnostic tools.
