Simply put..... how the hell do you get this out without removing the windscreen??
We have a 2003 307 HDI - Keeps blowing 30amp fuse in engine bay. I have removed the wiper blades, black plastic cover and black thick protective material, but cannot see how to get the assembly out.
Any ideas anyone as I don't fancy paying a dealer to do it...
Any advice would be more than welcom - thanks |

hi,its been a while but don't remember to much hassle.
so you've taken all the scuttle stuff away?battery, battery tray, air filter housing.
think also on some diesels you need to lower gearbox mounting to allow passage of mechanism.

Couldnt fix the problem, ketp blowing fuses - wasnt the linkage or the wiper motor. Even blew fuses with motor unplugged. Hd to sent to local dealer, I said I thought it was BSI module.
They said they were charging £80 to plug into fault reader (only to find nothing) then took a further 2 hours to find faulty BSI unit. I argued and had some of the bill reduced and now am paying up about £600 inc VAT for new unit and re-programing.
What a sodin rip off - I found second hand BSI but looks as though they are a program only once unit so no luck there.

Sorry for not replying sooner, been a little busy. I saw a few sites that could have repaired the unit but to be honest for what they were charging I thought it best we had a new one with 12 months guarantee. It's the other half motor and as she transports the kids everywhere I didnt want them stranded anywhere.
This site really seem popular but I'm amazed at all the people having similar problems, there seems to be no good news storied about these motors, just bad news. I have a ford mondeo mk3 and belong to a forum for that, I thought their's was full of doom and gloom.
Keep up the good work, it's really nice to know people can come here for free to air their problems and receive technical help.
Thanks
PS Think it was water damage but not 100% sure |
