Hi can anyone help I have a 2000 peugeot boxer 1.9 diesel I have in the past had problems with gears crunching adjusted  the clutch cable and that fixed it. I just recently had the same problem tried adjusting it and it didn't work also my clutch started slipping. I automatically thought it was the clutch shot so I changed it. I still have the problem of crunching in all gears my question is can it be anything else other than the gearbox is there a clutch slave cylinder on a boxer van any help would be greatly appreciated.

has it never been right, even for a short time after clutch replacement?is the clutch plate in right way round?

Thanks for your quick reply it was crunching straight away  after fitting , I didn't know there was a right and wrong way to fit a clutch plate but the crunching is the same as before the new one was fitted haven't tried moving the fork to see what travel there is yet.
The reason I asked the question about the slave cylinder is because I have had some problems with my brakes recently could it be related.
Thanks again

Hi, I'll check for the fork travel tomorrow, the pedal feels quite light (easy) to press. the problem I've had with my brakes has not yet been resolved yet although seems to have eased was that my brake pedal became very hard to press  on occasion so am thinking it was/is a hydraulic problem with brakes and could be the two problems related?

Hi again I'm presuming what you mean by fork travel is the part which the clutch cable runs through no movement at all by hand with the cable off. using the pedal the arm moves say about from 12 o'clock to 2  o'clock.
Have noticeable noise (not noisey ) from engine sounds like thrust bearing which stops when I press the clutch, fitted full clutch kit including thrust bearing
Thanks for looking
