Anyone any idea why I can't get the brakes bled properly on a 307 SW?  A rear brake line rusted through (whatever happened to copper brake pipes instead of painted steel?  Too expensive of course) so I had to bleed more or less from scratch, but the brakes are still on the floor even though I've done it twice.  No more air is coming out of the calipers, only fluid, but the pedal just goes straight down with hardly any resistance at all.

Cheers,

Glyn

How are you bleeding them?
Are you using a brake bleed tool?

Nope, old fashioned pipe onto the bleed screw feeding into a bottle of fluid and constant topping up of the master cylinder.

May also need to jack the back of the car high up.
A gunson tool is under 20 quid - well worth it.

Thanks everyone - I'd already tried the raised back but not the four together, so I'll try that and then go for the Gunsons if that doesn't work.
