Hi

I have a 51 reg 307, 1.6 petrol.  Average miles.  My car seems to be in a sort of limp mode just now as it won't rev above 3500rpm or go faster than around 40mph at the absolute max.

I had the "Anti Pollution Fault" on the display but this has now gone.  DTCs were read and it gave the following 2 codes;
P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (bank 1)
P0420 Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (bank 1)

It also seems to run quite warm.  Temp guage inside the car shows normal temps but if you lift the bonnett after running there feels like a lot more heat than usual.

No Peugeot garages near me (nearest around 20 miles) and I don't feel I could drive this car on an open road.

Any suggestions would on areas that should be looked at would be a great help.

I have had the car around 18 months.  I have not changed the cat in this time and there is no documentation with the car showing any previous work done other than service stamps so I don't know if it has ever been changed.

Haven't run it low on fuel recently.  I only have access to basic diagnostic equipment (code reader).

Checked plugs yesterday and they all had a lot of carbon build up on them.  These were changed less than 6 months ago at last service.

At the stage now really just want to get it running again as driving the other half's car at the mo (not a Peugeot) and it just doesn't feel the same as my car.

Ideally the long term fuel trim and the short term fuel trim live data need accessing.

The fault could be caused by dodgy plugs, coil packs, O2 sensor, ECU etc.

However the crystal ball points towards airflow meter first, followed by O2 sensor, followed by coil packs, then CAT or a combination.
