Post 108066 » power steering pump not running » Peugeot Central

Hi,
Got a problem I would like some advice on. First Post so please be gentle.

My power steering has given up the ghost, there are no warnings on the dash and the power steering is really heavy.

Checked the following
1 - 60A power steering pump fuse okay. It says in the book it should be 70A in position no 7.
2 - 10A power steering command module is okay.
3 - Disconnected the plug with two wires from the pump and I get a warning. re-connect and the warning disappears.
4 - removed the plug put the ignition on and am getting 12v supply to the pump.
5 - power steering fluid level well up the dipstick.

Could the brushes be knackered in the motor?.
If you can help I would be grateful, want to get my car back on the road soon.
