Craig.
Resevoir is rear of engine bay.

The car measures the fluid level in the container so if you fill it up nothing on that front should need resetting; however there is the magnetic switch on the fuel filler which may kick in at some point.
That requires a suitable diagnostic tool to reset.

Post from a diagnostic forum:
Firstly there are 2 differant types of fluid for the FAP filter, make sure you refill the tank with the correct one. On the early system it may also be neccessary to replace the FAP itself with an exchange one.
Once refilled there is a counter in the additive ECU that needs to be zero'd (on some models this counter is incorperated in the engine ECU instead.) Once the counter is reset you will then need to add at least 10 litres of diesel for the system notice the change, and lastly a roadtest of at least 6 miles at a constant speed of approx 50 MPH.
After all that the fault codes stored in the additive ECU and the engine ECU will turn to intermittant and then can be cleared.

Got my 307 booked in for tomorrow afternoon. The chap I spoke to on the phone was telling me all sorts of different scenarios as to why the fault might of occured. He seemed to know what he talking about - pretty much everything he was saying was what I've learnt on various websites, so at least I know he wasing talking from his backside.

I will report back tomorrow to reveal how much lighter my wallet has become!

Talking of money, the chap I spoke to also said that if it's a case of a new FAP, the cost would be £393 inc. parts, labour, vat, which I didn't think was that bad compared to some of the prices that get banded about on various forums.
