Just needs tightening, but check for damage as its been sliping, better than it snapping then no steering pump and alternator.

bit stripped of the side and blew the engine (must be wire built into them ), not that mechanical so don`t know were it went in , but caused major damage , was told at the time it went in round the area of the timing belt and caught it and f*cked that up, Crying or Very sad
from then on i always check the belts for wear Smile

If the belt starts to break up then a loose bit of cord can get caught in the crankshaft pulley. As this wraps around this pulley it knocks the cambelt timing out with expensive results. This happened on my 406 and is quite common on the 1905cc diesel engines.

Yes bettyswollocks...This has been know to happen where the auxiliary belt
has came off and made its way in through the timing belt cover and snapped the timing belt...... Crying or Very sad
So it's important to have the auxiliary belt replaced when it has signs of cracking  or any signs of wear...... Wink
