mine has done 23800 miles and is now starting to slip when u consider that i use the car to go back and forth to uni which is mainly motorway miles and not using the clutch it would last longer.
plus the fact these are town cars u wouyld think it would be designed to withstand high use. |

| We do quite a few with less than 25 - 30000 miles, problematic with peugeot to get them changed under warranty so its a bit hit and miss, the new clutches are made from a better longer lasting material though. |

Do you ever find the friction plate is actually worn tho?
I've done tons and its always release bearing / pressure plate failure. |

hey, did you car beep at you with no warning lights? i've got tronic transmission & done 56000 miles in less than 3yrs. It started peeping at me here & there but badly on one trip away. firslty i had the AA come check my car out after it started peeping continously as i was anxious to drive it back home... they didnt find any faults with it.. so i drove it all the way home and took it to my local peugeot dealer 2 days later for review under warrantee.
they had it for a whole day and when i called them up for an update, they told me they couldnt find any problem with it, although it had beeped for them as well... they were wainting to hear back from HQ with advice. i told them i needed the car for another trip and they said it wouldnt be a problem and that they'd just get back to me with HQ's feedback... 2 days later i get the same guy on the phone saying "Hi, your car with the clutch problem miss", to which i said "what clutch problem??" - "well HQ have come back & said they wont fix it under warrantee as your car has done more than 20,000miles".
now... if this was a clutch problem... surely my local dealer would have found it that day.... isnt it really convenient that "the clutch" has gone... exempt from warrantee... and they want £850 to fix it!!
has anyone else had this beeping on their car? |

Mine was getting difficult to change up through the gears, particularly 1st to 2nd.
A new clutch (after 35000 miles) seemed to fix this, but the new clutch disintegrated after about 100 miles! It was easy to put into gear though! How can a new clutch disintegrate? |
