I'm hoping someone in this forum can help me out. I have this problem with my 307 hatchback (2002 model) where i keep getting this beeping sound. after a while of beeping, the engine oil leak light flashes intermittently, at an irregular pace. On contacting my mechanic, he is unable to diagnose the problem (scan was already done). I am unable to drive the car, fearful of what could be. Does anyone have a similar problem, and can help?
Thanks |

Slickchick
by oil leaking light do you mean the oil pressure light?? red symbol with an old fashoined oil can as the symbol?
This refers to oil pressure , so its pos you have a faulty pressure switch or wiring issue or as listed in Toddy s post a fault with one of the control units (engine fuse box) if you have not changed your oil for a long time you may need to do this with the help of an engine flush and some 10 / 40 semi synthetic oil. and as Bettys says some good quality oil!! which you dont have to get from Puegeot.
Good Luck

Crow,
I have changed oil in July, the oil pressure seems to be good but the oil light that flashes and when the mechanic checked was spilling oil. i'm thinking could possibly be the the bm34 wire. but i'm really not sure. I don't think changing the oil and filter will be the problem but i will keep u updated! but the beeping is unbearable! |

Try the oil and filter !! i had this from friday at one stage considered changing the oil pump(£250 part only not labour ) was doing my head in , i also had "oil pressure insufficient" on the middle display ,
oil pressure sensor £12
try these 3 things before you go any further.
The bm34 wire was for the 206 !!! I checked. |

Hi Slickchic
Im getting a bit confused here , apologies!! when you get a mo try breaking down your issue in as brief but detailed fashion as pos!!
You mention oil spilling out?? what are your vehicle details model engine size , mileage??
Im sure we can all crack this one just need some more info about fault particulars and vehicle!!

thanks to both Crow and Betty
my problem was fixed. unfortunately for me oil was spilling causing the sensor to alert. it was relatively minor, now i can breathe a sign of relief. nothing to do with bm34 wire or changing oil, filter or oil pump!
