Just bought a 307 1.4 HDI.... just wondering whether anyone knew what steps to take to confirm whether your car has not been clocked back
I know you can obtain information from the following sources:
1. MOT Vosa- you can check your mileage each year
2. you can purchase car mileage reports etc.
3. HPI etc
But there are unfortunately sellers/traders out there who will clock the miles back on the car & book it in for MOT- (if its due).... just to attract buyers to their low mileage vehicle but in actual fact its high mileage that their buying.
But i'm thinking is there a way where you could plug a diagnostic cable in the ECU & it will tell you whether the mileage has been adjusted etc...
Oh yes... forgot to mention does a peugeot 307 1.4 Hdi (2002) have a particulate Filter....

Its very difficult to do.
Looking at the BSI Log is a good start - specifically the mileage when faults have occurred - but there is no reliable method that I know of.
