At the risk of sounding like an eejit - I tried to give someone at work a jump start tonight but when I was connecting the jumper cables I couldn't access the black connection on the battery. There is a cover over the battery that wouldn't reveal the connector but no way the leads would go in to connect. How do I jump start cars then?

in short dont bother , jumping can cause issues with your own car , access is restricted abd as far as i know there is no alternative

pull the cover up and towards you and it should come off, did mine yesterday

you have to take off the postive battery terminal to remove the battery cover. When yur jumpstarting another car u shuldnt go to yur battery with the black lead, go to a gud earth on the engine, the engine mounting or sumfin

You don`t have to. The black terminal is the EARTH terminal; so you can connect your black lead to any available earthed body ro chassis part.
