Hi all, Im very new to this and not yet found my way around the site so please forgive me if im asking questions that have been answered a thousand times before 
I have recently bought a 2004 407 2.0 hdi auto with luxury pack from my brother who has had it for the last 3 years. During this time it has flashed up warning lights for "no broken lamp " fuel additive (been done) faulty side lamps ( this is still on yet they work ? ) and the sat nav does not have full postcode search, is this normall ??
It has 120k and not had the cambelt changed as yet but im told this should be done at 160k this seems to me a bit excessive ?
and finally  ... the sat nav disc just spins constantly ? do i need to upgrade it or can i get an sd card for it /?
sorry to ramble on, I will get used to the site soon enough  |

Get your cambelt, (and tensioners and waterpump), changed, then you can stop worrying about it for 80,000 -100,000 miles or more It should cost about £300 or so. If it snaps, Peugeot arent going to fix it for free, so why trust their recommendation, whilst worrying for the next 40,000 miles.
On the Sat Nav, I think you have an RT3 model if you have to leave the disc in. I have an RT4 which has a hard drive with all the sat nav data, but can confirm that the Postcode search is a bit bloody hit and miss.
Cant help with the other stuff.

Hi,
I think cambelt is done at 120k, could be wrong.
Satnav doesn't have postcodes and can sometimes require ejecting and then putting back in for it to work but on my car I've only had to do it a couple of times.
Update may help and you'll need to update if you want latest maps.
Mine did same with side lights a month or two ago I just checked wiring, plug and gave electrics a spray of wd40 been fine since.

cheers, I called the dealers today, they reckon it should have been done at 96k ? seems quite random but thats what they say.
To update the satnav do i need to buy a new cd ???
also, if i want to use the simcard thing for the phone, silly question but would i need two sims or do you take it out your phone everytime ? |

Hi Cambelt 120 000 and as already mentioned water pump woulndt hurt either

Sidelight warning can be contact issue on wiring plug to rear lights , try disconnecting them and plugging em back in |
