You need to pm/post the last 8 digits before we know you have a dpf or not...

#5: Re: Diesel Particle Filter Author: Motts, Location: St-Jean de Valeriscle, FrancePosted: Wed 22 Feb, 2012 10:02 am I wouldn't fool with the Diesel Particle Filter unless you are a well trained technician, however, see the following two links:
http://www.autodiagnos.com/sites/default/files/psa_particle_filter_fap_ad.pdf - This document talks about how to identify what kind of additive you have, and that the additives can not be mixed. Therefore you will need to replace everything to use the other type of additive. Read it all, it is very informative and if you are not deterred, go on to the second link!
The dpf filter is normally fitted to the vehicles exhaust system downstream from the catalytic converter, the purpose of the dpf filter is to filter the soot particles produced during engine combustion. The soot particles coated with fuel additive, are stored in the diesel particulate filter until they reach a pre-defined level, at this point the ECU will trigger the regeneration process which is designed to increase the temperature in the dpf filter to burn of the soot particles.
Dpf filters are always giving problems and they are darn expensive to replace, better to have the system removed.

The Department caught on to the practice of removing these filters. You don't have to tell me what a pain in the bum they are.
