Hope you can help....I have a P reg 306 1.9TD and the alternator belt keeps slipping....I can't see any obvious way of tensioning it, although I have noticed a tensioner near to the alternator, and to be fair I haven't looked from underneath. Has anyone got any ideas on how to do this, or do you think it needs a new tensioner?

HELP!!!!

hi, i have an r reg 1.9 d turbo, and the tensioner is a spring loaded one and cant be adjusted cos the spring keeps it tight, so if the belt is slipping then it is probably stretched so you should get a new one. you only need a 3/8ths ratchet to fit the new belt so it will only cost a about 15 to fit it youreself.
