I've just bought a 2010 peugot 308 cc with music system combined sat nav. Sat nav will not accept full post code (e.g. will only take bs22 9 but not the full post code) then gives lists of streets to select from. Often I only have a post code (no street name) so can't use the factory fitted sat nav.
I still use an old Garmin despite having the factory fitted flash looking (useless) sat nav in my expensive but very disappointing car .
Have been back to Peugot supplier - they say they don't know as the car was a demo model/used car - they haven't received any training on this car. Not very happy at all with Peugot or their customer care.
Please can someone advise me . |

Hi gurleigh,
I have a 308 GT hatch with the factory fitted SATNAV. It only givesme the option to enter the first part of the postcode, so I don't think yours has a fault. I'm not in the same situation as you, as I don't tend to have to rely on postcodes for my destination, so it's not really been a problem. Other than that, I think it's a good SATNAV and I've received comments from others who think the same.
One of my friends has owned Audis and BMWs with factory fitted SATNAV and he said they don't allow you to input the full postcode either. I don't know if that's changed but AFAIK it's mainly TomTom and Garmin who offer that option.
I hope this helps, in as much as I don't think your SATNAV is faulty, it just doesn't have that feature.
All the best

| We have just bought a 407SW (60reg) and the sat nav is the same you can only put in half the post code -a real nuisance if you don't know the street name. My query is the SD card that came with the car says 2008-9 and I have noticed that the sat nav is quite out of date and has me going across a field when travelling around the M25!! Surely if you buy a car it should come with an up to date sat nav! How do I get it updated? |

Hi
I too have a new 308 SR with Sat Nav
It refuses to 'find' minor roads in N Ireland and like yours only accepts part of the Post Code.
Garmin is king to this
RM
PS Does that hard lump in the middle of the seat backrest hurt your back?? |

I have a 2010 308 and the post code input is the same in mine so must be just a badly designed sat nav, I find being told half left is quite confusing it either means turn left or go straight on! As for udates, when I bought mine there was talk of updates being available from the Peugeot website but this never transpired, if you email peugeot direct they will tell you updates available on SD card from local dealer but local dealer wont know about it, they know it's available on disc for around £200! just found this website though, http://www.satnavi.com/peugeot.php, not bought from them yet so can't advise on reliability of the discs, but at £40 I am thinking of giving them a try, will update this post if I do |
