206 automatic gear box safe more issue.

I recently bought a 206 (Roland Garros)car with auto gearbox.Every thing is fine but the gear box goes to safe mode by flashing lights between snow and s mode .No other message comes to the screen. The hand book says go to the main dealer for check up but I want to make some research with your help before i go to the dealer .The lights start flashing after 20 mph and when the gear tries to shift in 3rd gear.after that i can drine the car at high speed but at trafic lights is looks as its stuck in 3rd gear and moves slowely not very responsive.i will really appriciate your help if anyone with this kind of experience can give some advice. Its 2000 peugeot 206 1.4 engine with automatic AL4 gear box .Thanks :(

307 HDI 90 S (does it have a DMF)

Hi,

To my knowledge it doesn't have one due to the lower power, And as there is not a conversion kit for it only backs this up to me.
So you will only need the clutch by the sound of it :)

If in doubt phone a pug dealer.

Indicators that cancel TOO fast!

Hi, I recently bought an indicator stalk to replace one on my wifes 2002 307 as her indicators would keep clicking off and switched onto the opposite direction when straightening wheel after a turning, before I bought a stalk after I was first made aware of the problem, I found that the screw into the clamp holding the stalk in place around the steering wheel column was loose and the whole stalk was moving slightly with the steering wheel, switching the indicators off, by tightening the screw it helped improve the problem, but not cure it, try this first. it won't cost you anything to look.

it is very easy to change the indicator stalk, took me about half an hour, but you must be aware that you may get a little nervous as you remove the steering wheel as the airbag is under neath and you don't want to set that off, as it was my first time of removing one I took it carefully and wore a pair of safety glasses just incase anything went wrong untill the airbag was safely out of the way, "you only get 2 eyes" but I had no problems at all, as I said it took about half an hour, you will need a torx screwdriver to remove the plastic shroud from around the stering wheel and a large torx driver that you can use with socket and ratchet to undo the steering wheel , I can't remember the sizes off the top of my head.
I bought the indicator stalk from here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400134611465
and recommend this seller, as you can contact him with your VIN no. to check you are buying the correct stalk as there are 2 types one for cars with front fog lights and one for cars without front fog lights, the one in link is for without fog lights, it also came with good fitting instructions, I know there are other places you can get them, I have seen a used one for £60 on ebay but why put a used one back on that is going to have already started to wear out, so by saving on the Garage costs it made more sense to buy a new one.
I have read through various places that there are different manufacturers and types of stalks available depending on the year of car etc, some do not wear out due to different design, so I can only go by my own experience and type of stalk I had on the car, hope this helps.

wacky wipers number 2

Hi all, I have the same problems with my wipers, my is a 407 2.0 HDI on a 55 plate, this fault along with others, has been on since new (registered), I have had the auto wipe function disabled this was due to being very erratic even when it is not raining it wiped. Peugeot look at me strange when I try to explain that they wipe when you unlock the doors with button, the wipers make like a dull thud (pulse of electric) then a second later they wipe once. also I have had the wipers wipe and stop half way up the screen when you open the drivers door, and then go back to is home position when you close.... what???.. this happen exactly out side the dealers where there staff seen it "YAY YES", but what i got was a shrug of the shoulders and they walked off. this fault will go with the car to grave, including the intermittent speed control failure.

happy motoring

morning all,my first post on this forum so hi to all. i have a 2004 expert van which is loosing power when i am on the motorway. i have recently started travelling quite a few miles back and for to work and have really noticed how bad this is getting. i will be doing a steady 60-70mph quite happily then it just seems to loose some ummph for a second ot two then kicks back in. the van has done nearly 100.000iles but has been well looked after as the service history is very good. has any one ideas if theres anything i can check myself as i cant affoed to take it to the garage at mo and i also dont want to make it worse.
thanks for any advice anyone can give me.

Trip Computer Fuel Mileage Display

[/font:99d91bd96b] [/size:99d91bd96b] [/color:99d91bd96b]
Hi Folks,

Just a quick question. I have got a Peugeot 207 1.4 S + On the trip computer when I have it set to saying how many miles of fuel i have left.
It gets to around 50 miles of fuel left and then get a message warning saying low fuel.
Then after this message has been displayed, It does not tell me how many miles i have left.
I just have a screen with lines instead of how many miles of fuel I have left.
I thought it would at least go down to 0 miles.

Just wondering if this is usual.

Thanks

407 Hdi 1.6 - "Engine Management System Faulty"

Hi all,

I bought a 2004 407 hdi 1.6 last week. It has 117,000 miles on it.

A day after I bought the car, a message appeared saying "Depollution system Failure". I didn't know what to do so I brought it to my mechanic who gave the car a service. He also plugged it into the diagnostics machine but no problems came up.

He recommended that I purchase a new battery, so I did.

Tonight when driving the car, a message appeared saying "Engine Management System Faulty". The car also appears to be in Safe Mode - I cannot exceed 3,000rpm.

What is wrong with my car? Have I bought a banger? I am getting very worried now as I don't have the money to be spending on Main Dealer prices.

PLEASE HELP. :x

Strange sound when in 3rd gear

Hello everybody, my first post, would be gratful for any help.

Peugeot 306 lx td r reg 5door.

Just bought another 306 last week. Replaced the glow plugs last week and just yesterday replaced oil and filter. While I had bonnet open I did tightnen a few jubilee clips just behind the intercooler as I thought there may have been a slight air leak Tested car last night everything ok.
Drove to work today all good.

But on the way home when in 3rd gear I could hear a sound from front left of the car, if I had to describe it I would say it was metal against metal, cross between a rubbing / grinding sound.. It doesn't appear to be the turbo as I can still hear the turbo making the usual sound, no loss of power in any gear, no smoke, 1st , 2nd, 4th and 5th all fne. all the gears are easy to get into.

Could anybody hazard a guess as to what could be causing this?

Thanks in advance, please ask me any questions! Cheers
